Relaxocean invites you to travel differently in sailboat pooling by sharing with the captain and other travelers the pleasure of island-hopping in the Caribbean upon the availability of each participant and ours and upon the wind's fantasy.

 

Sailboat pooling gives colours to the journey: each participant with his life experience and his practice has an active role on board while minimizing environmental impacts and sharing happiness to be on the water.

 

Whether you are beginner or Cape Horn captain, everybody is welcome on board. The sailing boat Joho was built in 1973 on Lazzara's design. She is a monohull sloop center cockpit "Gulfstar 41". She is 12,49 meters long, 3,65 meters wide and sleeps up to seven people on board. She is equiped with main sail, genoa, light genoa, spinnakers for trade winds and 50 horsepower inbord engine for marinas.

 

For a cost well different from a cruising charter, sailboat pooling is a non commercial and you are free to participate in part of the costs of the sailboat, or in the sharing of some time to help maintain the boat, or simply in saiboat's manoeuvre with the joy of sailing together.

Below is an example based on three participants:

•  Boat maintenance (repairs, safety equipment, insurance). From 20 € to 30 € per day per person.

• Boardcash covering the living expenses on board (food, drinks, fuel, consumables, possible mooring, harbour and formality fees). They are decided and agreed alltogether, captain and crew. They rarely exceed 10 € per day per person.

Guadeloupe's proximity to many islands allows for a variety of destinations and durations. One night, two days minimum to visit the closest islands of the archipelago. Some hours between them, usually in the morning, followed by a discovery next day on land.

Beware! Sailing is the second slowest means of transportation after walking and therefore one week is not enough to sail around the archipelago! Flexible schedule is also recommended in order to adapt to weather changes.

Round trip Petite Terre, 2 days:

• 1st day, from Saint François, Guadeloupe to Petite Terre

       (night spent moored in lagoon at nature reserve)

• 2nd day, from Petite Terre to Saint François, Guadeloupe

 

Round trip Marie Galante, 3 days:

• 1st day, from Saint François, Guadeloupe to Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage in bay of Saint Louis)

• 2nd day, Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage in Canot cove)

• 3rd day, from Marie Galante to Saint François, Guadeloupe

 

Round trip Dominica, 6 days:

• 1st jour, from Saint François, Guadeloupe to Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage in bay of Saint Louis)

• 2nd jour, from Marie Galante to Portsmouth, Dominica

       (night in anchorage)

• 3rd day, Dominica and customs formalities

       (night in anchorage)

• 4th day, Dominica

       (night in anchorage)

• 5th day, from Portsmouth, Dominica to Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage)

• 6th day, from Marie Galante to Saint François, Guadeloupe

 

Archipelago tour, 9 days:

• 1st day, from Saint François, Guadeloupe to Terre de Haut, Les Saintes

       (night spent moored at Terre de Haut)

• 2nd day, Les Saintes

       (night moored at Cabrit island)

• 3rd day, Les Saintes

       (night in anchorage in Terre de Bas)

• 4th day, from Terre de Bas, Les Saintes to Portsmouth, Dominica

       (night in anchorage)

• 5th day, Dominica and customs formalities

       (night in anchorage)

• 6th day, Dominica

       (night in anchorage)

• 7th day, from Portsmouth, Dominica to Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage)

• 8th day, Marie Galante

       (night in anchorage)

• 9th day, from Marie Galante to Saint François, Guadeloupe

The circumstances of sailing are not suitable to young children on Joho. Older children, each accompanied by one adult, may participate, subject to the captain's approval.

 

All ways of life are welcome on board to broaden consciousness, exchange, liberate and respect the harmony of all participants.

 

Naturist sailings is often requested. Naturism is "natural" on sailboats, well suited to the tropics and easier on board than on beaches due to the private open space it offers. It is occasionally practised on Joho when each crew member agrees (there is no obligation on board) and when location and laws permit it.

 

Courses, workshops,  and seminars are welcome on board. In the spirit of sharing and connection with sea.

 

Special collaborative sailboat pooling is organized with pleasure: wellness massages, water relaxation, parties, etc.
